The dog image is awesome. I love how he is crisp, while the background is blurry. His coat is also very dark against the grayish background. The cropping on the first picture is very emotional. It makes me want to know the story behind it. The family photo is fun too because it shows a typical awkward family photo. :) "Are we done yet?" "No! One more!" We all can relate to this!
I really like the lighting in the first one..maybe use a tad more contrast. The third one could have a lot of meaning behind it..you really captured the look of someone not paying attention :) My favorite is the one of the dog, priceless! I like the depth of field and the dog's tongue haha.
The dog in the last image is so adorable - gotta love 'em! The image of your brother is quite amusing as well, with him "studying." I think if you were to crop out a bit of the right side and the bottom of the fourth image, the balance might be a bit better.
the first one has great potential. i wish it wasn't blurry, so you might consider reshooting that one to get a crisp image. also, you could add a bit of contrast to that one as well. i like the concept behind the image of your entire family. i wonder if it would be stronger in a series of groups of people not looking at the camera? the sharpness of the dog's nose is great. he looks a bit like a person posing for a picture.
I really like the last image, nice job getting him to look at you i've been trying to get an image of a dog but they never want to cooperate. I also really like the second one. the highlights in her hair and on the leaves in the background look really nice.
1. I think the subtle motion blur works…her expression enforces the whole motif of uncertainty (if that's what you were going for)
2. I love how the flash didn't overpower the subject in this photo…she looks relieved
3. Modern America
4. I think you could do well with a series of each member in this photo in a solo shot (you're halfway done already) and contrast that with a series of group shots
5. I'd make his tongue darker…I think it gets lost in the fur…and it's such a pretty tongue
My favorite is the family photo, especially since none of them are looking at the camera, which makes me laugh. I also like that I can't tell whether this photo is posed or candid.
I also like how you seemed to capture different family members in their own "settings." The lighting on the first image turned out well. I think the 2nd image needs a little more contrast; it seems too dark.
I think the top two are my faves.
ReplyDeleteI think the first one could use a little more contrast and the second one, i find the background a little distracting. Maybe try blurring it out?
i like the first one the most :-) i wish you could add a little bit more light source in this photo, to light her face up.

ReplyDeleteI like the dog, cute. The shot with all the people in it is nice too, I really like all the different expressions.
